End of Travel for the Azimuth

Because the dome will follow the telescope when under power, it is possible to move the telescope to the end of travel by hand. The hard limit on travel will, however, prevent the physical limits of the Azimuth cable wrap from being exceeded. Once the telescope has been pushed past the limit of cable wrap, a circuit breaker will trip, preventing further movement.

The Baldor’s will lack power, this will mean that Azimuth drive will cannot be enabled. Both the Master and Slave drives will not be in a Ready state.

Recovery

The recovery process is simple, but should be done with two people. The Azimuth EOT override key must be pushed. The breaker for the drive controllers must ben be reset. Finally, one must very carefully move the telescope away the limit and towards the normal operating range.

The Azimuth EOT override, along iwht E-Stop 1, E-Reset and Azimuth override.
